Bicycles, bicycles, bicycles
Evidently Rotterdams common mode of transport is cycling. My experience with cyclist in Roterdam was quite overwhelming, many people cycled as a way to commute around Rotterdam. I was constantly on a look out for the next bike silently cycling from round a corner. They even offer bike tours of the city an Inner City Tour and a Big City Tour. The bycyle routes are definately more clearly defined within the landscapee in contrast to our bycycle lanes in London. I found out from Tim that the reason why bycycle lanes in London are so poor is because funding for them is not a priority in London Boroughs and are usually left to the end of the year when not enough time is taken to allocating them in connection with other boroughs so that lanes are continuous from one to another.
