A Changing City

During this focus week I spent most of my time in Hull. Hull is a one of UKs leading port cities and since 2003 this city has been undergoing major regeneration all over the city. One of the biggest and most ambitious city centre redevelopment within Hull is St Stephens.

My first view of Hull once exiting the Station at Hull is the St. Stephen complex. Its dramatic glazed canopy roof structure spans the length and breadth of the curved 'street', which is as wide as London's Oxford Street and the tree-lined open spaces and squares. The 40 acre development has a new, state of the art integrated transport interchange,
a shopping and leisure complex, including around 50 shops and stores
new homes for the Hull Truck Theatre and the Albemarle Music Centre
a hotel and a residential quarter.
The landscape definately unites catering to the peoples needs, after a long day shopping pedestrians would jus have to walk a short distance with there heavy bags to the transport interchange where they can find there bus to take them to home. This development will also have a good impact on the the retail sector attracting those who are just entering Hull to do a quick bit of shopping before heading for there desired location in Hull
I was definately drawn to enter the shopping centre it was just too tempting.
